- Disconnect Battery: Turn off the ignition and disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable to prevent electrical surges.
- Inspect Air Intake Duct & Filter: Ensure the engine air filter is clean and the air filter housing/intake tubing is free from oil blow-by, leaves, or grit. A dirty air filter will rapidly contaminate new hot-wire elements.
- Handle with Care: Never touch the internal hot-wire or sensing resistor with bare fingers or mechanical tools. Do not spray harsh throttle body cleaners directly into the sensing passage.
